Eden Prairie Wood Flooring is a wood flooring contractor working in Eden Prairie, MN and the surrounding southwest metro, with 20+ years of installing, sanding, refinishing and repairing wood floors behind the work. We handle solid and engineered floors, above grade and below it, in single-family houses, townhomes, condominium units and commercial spaces.
Most of what we do comes back to one thing: a wood floor in Minnesota lives through a large annual humidity swing, and almost every complaint a homeowner brings us is that swing showing up in the boards. Twenty years in one metro is mostly a record of which problems are real, which resolve on their own by June, and which were built into the floor on the day it went down.
Our Approach

We measure before we quote. The indoor relative humidity is read with a hygrometer on the first visit and written on the paperwork, because a heated house here in January sits below the band wood flooring is specified for, and we would rather explain that conflict up front than hand over a humidifier setting and leave you to discover it. The moisture content of the flooring and of the subfloor are metered against each other before a board goes down, with both numbers on the quote, and any below-grade work is priced from a reading taken on the lower-level slab itself rather than from the floor above it.
The same habit runs through the rest of the work. Winter gapping gets measured and photographed before anybody calls it a defect, and an engineered floor has its wear layer measured before it is ever quoted for a refinish, since past a certain thickness there is nothing left to sand. Association governing documents are read and the underlayment specified to that building before an upstairs job is scheduled.
We also quote a recoat honestly against a full sand-and-refinish, including the times the cheaper answer is the right one, and we photograph and moisture-map a damaged floor before any drying or tear-out starts, because that record cannot be recreated afterward. Every quote carries a written grit sequence and finish schedule so the work can be checked against something, along with cure and return-to-service times and what a cold house does to them. Before the first machine runs, we plan furniture, pets and where the household sleeps.
What We Do
We install solid and engineered hardwood, refinish and recoat existing floors, repair damaged boards and failed sections, rebuild and refinish stairs, repair and flatten subfloors, handle water damaged floors and the documentation a claim needs, work in condos and townhomes to the building’s own specification, refinish engineered floors where the wear layer allows it, and take on commercial wood flooring for restaurants, offices, schools and churches. If you would like a written estimate with the readings and the schedule on it, get in touch and we will come and measure.
